Some musicians we don’t know IRL were inspired by our Buke and Gase song “Houdini Crush” and sampled it for their own song which they named after Arone (she/her).

Jackson Ramsey is a Vancouver based electronic rock project from Maarten Bayliss & Stellan Nundoo. Their debut album ‘Identity Thief’ was recorded on a laptop in lockdown, however as of late Jackson Ramsey’s live consists of a mixture of samples, synths, and live drums.

Their second album ‘Youngness’ came out August 12, 2022 and blends experimental rock, dance, electronica, and psychedelia. It explores both the playful and painful aspects of adolescence. The duo push their sound into a livelier, more spontaneous space, while still remaining deeply electronic. The lyrics cover various phases of youth, such as pre-school (Child’s Song), and angsty teenaged years (Doomin’ and Gloomin’). Musically, Bayliss explained: “The idea behind the songwriting was to limit everything to synth, sampler, vocals, and drums and find the biggest possible sound while having everything be played live without a click or backing tracks.”
